The Ovation® system interface to the General Electric
Mark V and VI Turbine Controllers allows fast and reliable
data exchage between the two systems. Communication takes
place over a network connection providing greater data throughput
and access to more system funtions. These functions include
management of GE alarms from the Ovation® system, a single
synchronized Sequence-of-Events system, and command transmisstion
from Ovation® to the GE system.
GE Mark V & VI Turbine Controller Interface Features:
- Grants quick response times and greater throughput using
an Ethernet connection between the two systems
- Provides high communication availability through redundancy
with automatic failover to backup
- Achieves full data exchange, thus broadcasting all GE
point data at real-time speeds on the Ovation®
Network
- Allows reliable transportation of link messages through
the TCP/IP network protocol
- Accommodates control commands such as digital setpoints
and push-button commands, eliminating the need for hardwired
I/O controls
- Converts Ovation® operator commands into GE commands
in a high-speed, integrated fashion through the Ovation
Controller
- Processes alarm acknowledgements and "returns to
normal" through Ovation workstations
- Provides a single, synchronized plant-wide Sequence-of-Events
function
- Furnishes a common, consistent storage and retrieval archive
function through acceptance of GE points and alarms at the
Ovation® Historian
