Description
Combines the highlights of the three classic WEStation courses, WSU, WHM, and WSM. The primary focus is the software utilities yet add additional hardware and troubleshooting topics. No prerequisites are required.
Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Explain the operation of the Information Highway
- Explain the operation of the Data Highway Controller
- Use the WEStation Operator Station to monitor and control process variables
- Use the WEStation Software Server and Engineer Workstation to perform all basic engineering functions
- Navigate the file structure and sign out and edit text files
- Create and modify custom graphics
- Create a DPU database
- Manage the system point directory
- Create and modify DPU control programs
- Link control schemes to custom graphics
- Modify and maintain project files for the system
- Download configured software to applicable drops
- Perform required preventive maintenance
- Distinguish between hardware and software problems
- Troubleshoot a WEStation system
- Load and configure the WDPF system
