Prerequisites
A basic background in modulating and logic control, and in digital computer
techniques is required.
Description
This course is for the technician who is responsible for software maintenance
and for modifying the WDPF WEStation system. This course describes the
general use and functions of various WDPF system drops and emphasizes
how to isolate software problems and make system changes. Students will use the
Software Server and Engineer Workstation to modify process diagrams, the
DPU database, and analog and digital control. They will also use these drops to edit necessary programs
to implement and control a simulated or actual process.
Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Use the WEStation operator station programs to monitor
and/or control a process
- Navigate the file structure, sign out and edit text
files
- Modify process graphics
- Save and load DPU memory
- Maintain the System Point Directory
- Modify control schemes
- Modify and maintain the project files for the system
- Download configured software to applicable drops
